Interview with V Talents: Copenhagen Fashion Week SS23

This week, following on from the excitement of Copenhagen Fashion Week, I interviewed our lovely Talents: Annabelle Hoy, Sam Salter, and Chey Maya about their experiences attending. I, the creative content manager here at V, visited Copenhagen this year for the first time myself and was blown away by it's streets splashed in primary colours, tranquil canals, and amazing fresh food, but during CPHFW, the city manages to get even more vibrant. By the sounds of it, our Talents had an amazing experience filled with a sense of community, a strong focus on sustainability, and of course some amazing style! Below are their thoughts.

Interview About Copenhagen Fashion Week SS23:

What show did you most enjoy and why?

Annabelle: “The show I loved the most was probably Stine Goya. It was the perfect combination of being super wearable, but also really striking and beautiful…safe to say I want everything! Also the show itself was so dynamic and exciting. There were these pillars of sand that collapsed one by one throughout the show; super memorable!”

Chey: “My favourite show had to be Rotate, not only because I walked in it, but the looks were stunning, the soundtrack was on point, and overall the energy was just incredible. It felt like a party!”

Sam: “Hard to choose but Stine Goya! I loved the colours, the materials, the design of the clothes.”

Which of your looks was your favourite?

Annabelle: “My favourite look that I wore was my Gestuz full green fit! I am obsessed with a full monochrome look, and also obsessed with any kind of suit, so it was totally up my street & I felt amazing in it!”

Chey: “My day 2 look had to be my fave. I wore my 2-piece blazer skirt set from Havre Studio with a cropped shirt and Prada loafers and bag.”

Sam: “I loved Samsøe Samsøe look because it was simple but sophisticated.”

What do you love most about Scandi style?

Annabelle: “Probably how fun it is! It seems to not take itself too seriously & there’s a lot of colour & personal flair, which is so fun to see.”

Chey: “I love that almost everything is oversized and super colourful.”

Sam: “The bold choice of looks & the amazing colours; so adventurous but it works. “

Did you notice any cool streetstyle trends while there?

Annabelle: “There were a lot of really cool streetstyle trends I saw. One of my personal favourites that I noticed was conveniently non denim shapes reimagined in denim- like blazer sets and suits, or even one look that I loved & that really stood out to me was a full denim look; crop top, midi skirt and jacket, even with matching boots and bag, all in the same denim tone. It was so chic & put-together whilst carrying that effortlessness that denim does so well! This is definitely something I will try to take into my own style this AW”

Chey: “To be honest no, and that’s what I loved most. Everyone was so unique and had their own sense of style.”

Sam: “Not necessarily trends, but the overall Scandi streetstyle is amazing.”

Copenhagen was just the beginning, as we enter into the busiest month for this industry, our Talents are preparing for fashion weeks across the world, from New York, to London, to Milan and Paris.
